Katunayake, Sri Lanka – August 18, 2025 – The uplifting melodies of classic hits filled the air at the Shramabhimani Kendraya premises this past Sunday, August 17, 2025, as the organization hosted a special “Nostalgia” music program. The event was specifically organized for the hardworking labour community of the Katunayake area, offering a day of relaxation, camaraderie, and joyful respite.
The program brought together workers from various sectors for an afternoon dedicated to music, dance, and shared memories. The goal was to provide a much-needed space for cultural engagement and mental well-being, recognizing the importance of holistic support beyond the workplace.
“Our workers give their energy and time every day. This was our way of giving back some joy and relaxation,” said one of the event organizers. “Events like ‘Nostalgia’ are vital. They strengthen our community bonds and remind our workers that they are valued, not just as labourers, but as people with rich cultural lives.”
The event was hailed as a great success, with attendees expressing gratitude for the opportunity to unwind and connect with one another in a festive and supportive atmosphere.
Shramabhimani Kendraya remains committed to its mission of supporting the well-being of workers through diverse programs that address rights, welfare, and community spirit.
